Welcome to our underground museum...

The museum at Hjemsted Oldtidspark opened in 1996 and is an underground museum with an area of 1000 m2. The museum is located underground and shows life as it unfolded here at Hjemsted Banke during the Iron Age. Graves and sepulchral urns can be found in the floor, and cases with the original finds are displayed on the walls. Archaeologists dug everything up in order to put it all nicely back together again. A look at Europe shows how the luxury items dug up during the excavations found their way to Hjemsted. A spiral staircase leads directly from the museum up into a reconstruction of a large farm from the age of the Gold Horns (approx. 450 AD). Follow the route from here into our large activity park.
